Obama’s Home Run

By Rich Lowry

I’m not sure how Obama could have handled this any better. He was genuinely graceful about McChrystal and his explanation of why he had to go made perfect sense.

Agreed. Yet I wonder. Let’s not skip over the criticism of Obama by McChrystal and his team, however inappropriately expressed. And let’s not forget that it wasn’t that long ago that Obama’s leftwing allies mocked the Iraq surge, which was the strategy of Petraeus, and mocked the man, whom they ignorantly called “Betray us.” McChrystal perhaps isn’t the only one from whom an apology is due.
