Question: While Christians are becoming complacent in many regards, I have questions regarding Obama’s professes belief. I’ve read a quote from him in which he claims that his mother was an atheist, yet he had no doubt that she was in Heaven. Secondly, how could a Christian support the building of any Mosque, anytime, and anywhere, when any Christian would be well aware that it the Muslim faith is clearly not aligned with John 14:6. We all know what his stance is on abortion. In your interview this morning, you stated that you think he is a Christian. While I can’t judge his heart, and it’s possible that he’s either a carnal Christian or feeding on milk, what makes you feel that he is, in fact, a true believer?
John, I can’t judge his heart, either. Mr. Obama says he is a believer in Jesus; he identifies himself as a Christian. All I can do is take him at his word. Do I hold to his particular approach to faith? Not at all.
Stan
Stan,
From this afternoon:
“Obama, speaking both to an audience of millions and to Jones in particular, said on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ that: ‘I hope he listens to those better angels and understands that this is a destructive act that he’s engaging in.’”
“Better angels”? Tell me, Stan, What believer seeks guidance from angels as opposed to the Holy Spirit? Do you think Obama is ignorant to the idea that we should pray to the Father in Jesus’ name, or rather that he intentionally left out Jesus’ name for political purposes in appeasing Muslims?
Either way, I’m not sure that we can just “take someone at [their] word.” We can know one by his/her fruits.
Grace to you,
John
I don’t think you can read too much into this comment. I think he was just referring back to something Lincoln said. I just cannot believe that he was drawn into this media-generated controversy. Obama has succeeded in elevating this pastor and lowering himself.
