Republicans no longer have the wind at their backs.
Let’s hope Charles is just being cranky. I think on balance Obama got the best of it during the lame-duck session: the tax-cut extension package (complete with even more unemployment payments), DADT, and the new START treaty (the last two of which appear to be negative for the military). At least the Republicans stopped a huge new spending bill. Here’s hoping they can regain the initiative … quickly.
