Fresh off last week’s 66 percent income tax hike, Illinois Democrat Gov. Pat Quinn is already back at the public trough. Now he wants an extra dollar on a pack of cigarettes, which will hit the poor the hardest. It’s “for education,” of course-it always is! But wasn’t that what the income tax increase was for? With all this new money flooding in “for education,” taxpayers will be forgiven if they start expecting actual results. If I were a smoker, the best revenge I could think of would be covered in one word: quit.
