By Jonah Goldberg
Obama often says, “Under my administration, America is producing more oil today than at any time in the last eight years.” That’s true: It’s also true that under Obama’s administration, Snooki from Jersey Shore got pregnant and Charlie Sheen lost his job. And he can take about as much credit for those developments.
There are several more things the president could do: Drill, cut the special regional gas formulations, cut the federal gas tax, approve the Keystone pipeline, approve more refineries, etc. It’s true that prices are going up even though we are producing more oil, but this is no excuse to do nothing. It is a call to do more–and to lead. If Mr. Obama can’t (or refuses to) do it, the American people will get someone who can.
