President Obama keeps blaming other things–the Republican minority, George Bush, the tsunami, the European debt crisis, etc.–for the problems in the economy and the shortcomings of his own administration. Let’s take the president at his word. If he is powerless in the face of national challenges, then he is not the leader our country needs. We need a skipper who can handle sailing in rough waters, not smooth, because the seas ahead look decidedly choppy.
