Yesterday Vice President Biden told a largely black audience, in his best impression of a southern negro, that if Mitt Romney were allowed to “unchain” the banks, “They’re gonna put y’all back in chains!” In one sense, this condescending, pandering, race-baiting nonsense isn’t really news, considering the source. But the significant thing is that no prominent African American leader has stepped forward to condemn it and call for more “civility” in the campaign–certainly not President Civility himself. I guess civility is only required of Republicans.
Democrats, do you really want four more years of this? Is this the hope and change you thought you were getting?
