Yesterday Mitt Romney made a birther joke at Mr. Obama’s expense, and both the president and the oldline media–who have no sense of humor–were predictably outraged. Personally, I loved it. Mitt Romnney isn’t a birther, but if he can get under the president’s skin and knock him off message with a funny line, then go for it. It’s better than sitting there and absorbing unfair attack after unfair attack. If the president demands an apology, the Mittster can say with a twinkle in his eye, “It was just a joke!”
