A lot of Republicans hoped Newt Gingrich would win the nomination so that he could do to the president what Paul Ryan does here. The president’s mistake was pretending to hold a summit about healthcare. I just wish Ryan could debate Mr. Obama during the campaign. I expect that Joe Biden will have that same befuddled, deer-in-the-headlights type of look–if he isn’t quietly dropped from the ticket first.
