Indiana Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock said pregnancies resulting from rape are part of God’s plan, tearfully explaining that he only supports abortions when a mother’s life is in danger.
Look, I’m pro-life, but pro-life politicians need to remember that they’re neither scientists nor theologians–and speak much more wisely. Nevertheless, a candidate’s theological beliefs should not distract voters from the fact that a vote against Mourdock and other Republicans over this is a vote for Barack Obama and Harry Reid. If you don’t like what Mourdock said, and I don’t, write him a letter–but vote Republican.
