“Romney Lied,” Obama Cried

The headline the Democrats are attempting to impose on Wednesday’s debate seems to be, “Romney lied.” But even if Mitt Romney did fudge a little on the facts–and Barack Obama has built his entire campaign on lying about the former Massachusetts governor–the fact is, the president wasn’t able to effectively counter those lies when the Klieg lights were on in Denver (though he continues to talk tough on the campaign trail from behind the safety of his teleprompter). Mr. Obama, the greatest orator since Cicero, apparently isn’t ready for prime time. Anyone can look tough using Predator drones, but if the president, who is largely a media creation anyway, can’t handle an aggressive Mitt Romney in debate, what’s he going to do with Putin and Ahmadinejad in real life?
