Financial Legerdemain

In exchange for tax hikes from Republicans now, the Democrats say they will find spending cuts “later.” Really? Anyone with half a brain knows that the tax hikes will make no real dent in the deficit while punishing job creators, the spending cuts and tax reforms will never come, and the Republicans will get blamed anyway. If that’s the best deal they can get, they ought to just give the liberals what they want now, allow the administration to own this fiscal mess, and say what they would do if given a chance to govern. The people voted for this financial legerdemain, after all.
