  1. The Pentecost is not only important because of the apostles’ experience of Speaking in Tongues. It is an important
account because it is the day Christ’s promise in Acts 1 was fulfilled. He promised that the apostles would receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them. The Pentecost day symbolized the day the promise of Jesus has been fulfilled. The gift of Speaking in Tongues becomes a symbol of the power that believers will receive as a result of being filled with the Holy Spirit.”
