Nuclear Toy

Harry Reid unilaterally has decided that the Senate will no longer allow the minority to block certain appointments via filibuster–this is the so-called nuclear option–even though he was glad to use it against George W. Bush and the Republicans a few years ago. Another hypocrite, Barack Obama, who never tires of accruing power unto himself, now supports what he once decried–the nuclear option–apparently believing that the opposition party should have no tools to oppose the majority, and perhaps have some leverage for a bipartisan deal.

Memo to Harry and Barack: Be careful what you wish for. If the Senate flips Republican next year, don’t be surprised if the Republicans use this shiny new toy against you. They’ll have every right.
