Truth

Acting far beyond their expertise and wisdom, earlier this week Illinois’ elected representatives voted to redefine marriage. Of course, this sentimental but misguided action will do nothing to change real marriage (which is only between a man and a woman), but the consequences for children and religious liberty will be with us far into the future.

And of course those who will suffer the worst consequences are homosexuals themselves, who are working overtime to convince others (and themselves?) that homosexual relationships are “normal.” They’re not. No matter how many laws are passed, no matter how many parades are held, homosexuality does not now and cannot ever represent God’s best for human flourishing.

That’s not hate speech, just a fact. May Christians live out the gospel with grace and truth in the coming days.
