Seeing the first openly homosexual seventh-round draft pick Michael Sam’s tearful PDA with his boyfriend, a Miami Dolphins player tweeted, “OMG. Horrible.” That exercise of his First Amendment rights got him a quick suspension from the NFL. Worse, he will have to undergo “sensitivity training” before he can be reinstated to the league, which has always represented the most manly of professional sports. When team training camps start up in July, I hope the league is honest and renames them “re-education through labor” camps.
