No matter how much someone tries to warn you, there is no way to be fully prepared for the different stages of life: adolescence, college, marriage, children, aging, aging parents, children growing up, etc. You simply must walk through each door to see what is on the other side. Some of the stages are great, others are terrible. Each, however, is an opportunity for growth and greater dependence on the Lord. So be fully present for each stage, ask God for strength and wisdom … and prepare to be surprised.
