One wonders how the sexual left will greet the charge that a teenager whom Dennis Hastert abused became a homosexual and eventually died of AIDS. On the one hand, they’re more than happy to see a Republican–any Republican, no matter how moderate–go down in flames, especially if they can cry “Hypocrisy!” On the other, however, the narrative of early abuse followed by a homosexual identity for the victim–though fairly common in the literature–doesn’t fit their claim that it’s all perfectly normal.
