At the debates, Donald Trump has a condescending habit of telling his opponents, “I like you,” or, “You insulted me,” or “That wasn’t nice,” or “He’s a nice guy”–as if everything revolves around Trump. I suppose the other candidates are expected to get a thrill if The Donald so much as nods in their direction … or whimper in the corner when he upbraids them for their temerity. If I were on the stage, I think I’d say, “Frankly, Donald, who cares what you think about me? I sure don’t! Let’s stick to the issues, shall we?”
