I’ll make a deal with all you Trump supporters who are willing to hold your noses and vote for this ill-informed, unprincipled bully. If he defies my expectations and turns out to be a great president, I’ll give you full credit for your prescience and actually be happy about it. After all, our nation desperately needs a great president right now.
But if Trump turns out to be the dumpster fire I believe him to be, I want you to acknowledge that you were wrong, and that principles are more important than power.
