Robertson McQuilkin Passes Away

rmRobertson McQuilkin, the third president of Columbia International University, and son of the school’s first president R.C. McQuilkin, passed away on June 2, 2016. He was 88 years old.

Robertson McQuilkin, whom I was privileged to know in my two years at Columbia and afterward, has entered the presence of the Lord. Godly man, devoted husband, Bible teacher, exegetical scholar, Christian ethicist, and missions advocate are just some of the ways we could describe Dr. McQuilkin.

What I will probably remember most is his encouragement to young Christians to “live at the center of biblical tension.” Where he has gone, of course, there is no tension, only joyous clarity. May we, as did Dr. McQuilkin, “get home before dark.”
