Rush Limbaugh said he hoped Barack Obama would fail and was eviscerated in the oldline media for it. He said this not because he wanted the country to fail under Obama’s leadership, but because he knew it would fail if Obama got his way.

Now, nearly two years after the election and with Congress firmly under Democratic control, where are we? We’re deeper in the economic hole than ever, Obama’s policies have been worse than ineffective, and Republicans are poised for a sweeping comeback. Even Time magazine has taken to calling the president “Mr. Unpopular.”

Rush was right. Obama succeeded … in clobbering the nation. I’m hoping for some real change in November. So are lots of others.

Reasonable people want the Ground Zero mosque backers to stop insisting on their legal rights, do the decent thing, and move the structure elsewhere. They want, in essence, for these Muslims to act like Christians. No wonder we’re at an impasse.
