Obama vs. Reagan

President Obama imploring the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to create more jobs makes me think he is even more clueless about the economy than I had thought. Jobs do not come out of the good-heartedness of business owners (at least most of the time). They come when they make economic sense. And the fact is, too many business owners believe jobs don’t make any sense in the current economic and political climate.

Can you imagine Ronald Reagan asking companies to hire more people? Of course not. The Gipper, who the administration has suddenly started to take a liking to, simply created the environment (low taxes, low inflation, low regulation, low criticism) that encouraged companies to hire. I cannot believe our Harvard-educated president has yet to figure this out.
