President Obama’s attempt to summon Congress next Wednesday for his latest economic speech on the same night as the Republican debate was not only arrogant. It was incompetent, as Team Obama apparently didn’t even take into account the logistics required to set up such an event on the day Congress returns from its summer break. I’m glad the Speaker gave it the bum’s rush it deserved. Someone needs to tell the president that it isn’t 2008 any more.
