Three years ago, President Obama promised to cut the annual budget deficit that “we inherited” in half by the end of his first term. Yesterday, he unveiled his latest budget, which increases the national debt by about another trillion dollars. If only he had kept to the deficit levels that he “inherited” from Mr. Bush, who never ran a trillion-dollar deficit. Oh, well, the good news is that this may be the last Obama budget that taxpayers have to endure.
