Last week on the Fox Chicago nightly news, they ran a story on a former prostitute who was running a ministry to “sex workers who may feel trapped” (as if 99.5 percent of them aren’t). A little while later, just before a story on a 30-year-old virgin track star, they warned parents to consider removing kids from the room. Yes, I guess the very idea of a real-live virgin would be too exotic and bizarre for the little tykes, who have been force-fed a steady diet of sex on TV, to handle. Our culture’s values certainly have become inverted.
