Happy Birthday, Corrie!

Happy Birthday, Corrie ten Boom! Here’s a brief excerpt from my book, Victorious: Corrie ten Boom and The Hiding Place:

Two and a half years of physical but not spiritual decline followed the third stroke. At about 10:30 p.m., with Lotte and Pam by her side, on April 15, 1983, Corrie’s 91st birthday, the old Haarlem watchmaker’s heart finally stopped ticking. Corrie went to her final hiding place and saw her glorious Lord face to face. Victory was finally hers. On her tombstone would be a simple inscription:
Corrie ten Boom
1892-1983
Jesus Is Victor

According to Jewish tradition, dying on one’s birthday is considered to be a particular blessing.

Fail

If you never allow yourself the freedom to fail, you’ll probably never succeed.

Works

If you think you will be accepted by God because of your good works, please think again. It doesn’t work that way. Life with God is a gift too precious to be earned.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

— Ephesians 2:8-9

Followers

You’ll get a lot more TikTok followers if you leave the faith than if you embrace it.

Insurance

Too many insurance companies will only insure you if they’re sure that you’ll never need insurance.

I hate insurance companies.

Outrage

A college football player is in a lot trouble for allegedly abusing a kitten. If true, this is a terrible indictment of his character. But why is there so little outrage directed at those who kill unborn human beings?
