Chicago Congressman Danny Davis-who recently urged Democratic power brokers to block a white candidate from winning the county board chairmanship-has just vowed to go to Chicagoans “in the alleys and under the viaducts” in order to return their census forms. This is presumably so the city that used to work can get its spot at the federal trough.
This is the party of compassion? Davis and friends apparently have no problem with people living this way as long as they get to control taxpayers’ money. What they should do is attempt to help such people get out of the alleys and out from under the viaducts.
