Firing Blanks

During a recent span, as many people were murdered in Chicago as in Afghanistan and Iraq combined. State legislators are calling for the National Guard to be sent in. Mayor Daley, overwhelmed and clueless, continues to shift blame from himself and his incompetent police chief to guns themselves. Chicago, of course, already has one of the strictest anti-gun laws in the nation, but the mayor still doesn’t get it.  After seeing his lawsuit against gun manufacturers thrown out by the state supreme court, Daley is going to the World Court. What next, the solar system court? Meanwhile, a man savagely attacked two women in Chicago, not with a gun, but with a baseball bat.
