Obama picks fight on taxes, big or just symbolic

President Barack Obama is renewing an old fight with the business community by insisting that $400 billion in tax increases be part of a deficit-reduction package. His proposals have languished on Capitol Hill, repeatedly blocked by Republicans, often with help from Democrats.

You want everyone to pay their “fair share”? Remember that “the rich” already pay most of the federal taxes in this country, as well as providing most of the jobs. How about asking the 47 percent of the citizenry that pays NO federal income tax to kick in a little? Now that would be fair!
