Memo to Mitt

Now that your brass-knuckle campaign has driven the last credible Republican challenger out of the race, you can focus on the current occupant of the White House. But remember that Rick Santorum did as well as he did because he isn’t you, and he received the votes of millions of folks–Tea Partiers and other conservatives–who decided that America needs more than a moderate manager of the economy. If you want to win their votes, not to mention their passion, you must convince them that you care about these issues, too.

And don’t put away those brass knuckles just yet.
