Pray for Luis Palau

Luis Palau has always taken a personal interest in me and in my career. What an encourager in the Lord! Despite his schedule as a globe-trotting evangelist, he graciously took the time to enthusiastically endorse several of my books. (I think he does everything enthusiastically, but I won’t hold this against him!) Earth will be a poorer place when he is gone, which I hope won’t be for a good, long time! I feel blessed to know Luis and pray for the Lord’s continuing peace and presence in his life–not to mention healing from Stage 4 lung cancer.

Many years ago, I think on my birthday, he gave me these verses from Psalm 20, and I have never forgotten them:

May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and give you support from Zion!
May he remember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices! Selah

May he grant you your heart’s desire
and fulfill all your plans!
May we shout for joy over your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions!
